Gay news, Supreme Court rules bigots be made public, European countries can decide on gay marriage themselves, Woman sues baptist church

25 06 2010

The highest court in the U.S, the Supreme Court, has ruled that the names of petition signers in Washington State Referendum 71 have to be made public. That means that people who signed an attempt to overturn a “pro gay” domestic partnerships law will be for all known as bigots. Conservatives tried to block the release of signatures fearing retributions, but all members of the court except for Clarence Thomas voted against them. Good news.

A High Court in Europe has ruled against 2 gays from Austria that wanted to get married. The court thinks the decision about marriage should be left up to the individual countries themselves and since there is a registered partnership in Austria that should be enough. As long the poor countries in Europe get their money from the Netherlands, Belgium and Scandinavia, they wanna have as little to do with our morals as possible and stay back in the Middle Ages.

An African-American woman sued her Covenant Baptist Church because they include gays and welcome same-sex unions. She says she gave$ 250.000 in past donations and wanted that back. She went to a gay wedding at the church just to see if it was real and she said it was disgusting. Now she dropped the lawsuit (because she had no chance in hell) and found herself a new bigot church. That from a woman who in her youth also was discriminated for being black. Unbelievable.

Top 10 meat-eating countries(per capita)

31 05 2010

The number 1 is the world’s smallest Island nation called Nauru. These Pacific Islanders do not eat local stuff though but mostly processed fatty meat ,shipped in from neighboring Australia. 78% is obese!!

2 Argentina( not surprise), 3 Australia, 4 Portugal, 5, New Zealand ,6 Austria, 7 Greece(surprised, also lots of fish I thought),  8 Monaco , 9 U.S.( not a surprise) 10, Ireland. I am surprised Germany is not on the list. I gotta say I love my meat as well, in that way I am more American than Dutch.

Gay news, Austria gay stamp, gay Welsh rugby star, anti-gay day a big fail, Gay pride Slovakia in danger

4 05 2010

The Australian Postal Service has issued the world’s first postage stamp to celebrate gay pride. It is on the occasion of the 15th annual Gay Pride in Vienna. The stamp is worth $0.72 and a bit bland. Just the words Rainbow Parade in German, but still cool it exists.

I reported a while back about the coming out of rugby star Gareth Thomas. He did an interview with SI and talked about how great his team mates were in accepting him and telling him he was still the same and it did not matter. Unfortunately this sunday a small part of the audience during one of his matches was not so gay-friendly. In the match his team on with 19-0 they started chanting homophobic slurs and he was pretty upset. The rugby league has taken action against the “fans”.

Religious Right Wingnuts hosted a 70.000 dollar event at the Lincoln memorial called: ” A cry to God for a nation in distress.” It was lined with Evangelical stars and morons like Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council and Pete LaBarbera from Americans for truth about homosexuality(probably 2 closet-cases themselves) and originally an idea of Huckabee’s inner circle. Only 300 people attended, haha. And that for 70.000 bucks. I post a small clip, the second speaker brings out the laughs!! Starts around 1 minute into the clip

The leader of the Slovakian National Party told media he is not in favor at all of the first Bratislava Pride in May 2010. He wants to attend it if it goes through and spit on the gays there. The extremely nationalistic SNP is a coalition party of the Government in Slovakia.
