Gay news, Denmark gay adoption, Pride cancelled in Lithuania, hate crime charges dismissed in Brooklyn murder, drag queen dance-off

I am surprised in a country like Denmark this was not law before but since this week the parliament passed a vote giving gay couples equal adoption rights. Until now they could only adopt individually or adopt the children of the one of the partners as step-children. Great news

Not so great is that in Lithuania, Gay Baltic Pride was banned. The court in the capital of Vilnius decided that. The court ruled that the parade could lead to public disturbances and say they can’t guarantee the safety of the participants. Nice excuse for not wanting it to happen.

This summer ¬†in Brooklyn¬†about a hate crime against Jose Suzuchanay and his brother. The two straight Ecuadorian men were walking arm in arm on the street. Jose was drunk and his brother was helping him. Two thugs thought they were gay and started screaming anti-gay slurs and anti-hispanic slurs to them and eventually beat Jose to death. Hakim Scott and Keith Phoenix were “only” found guilty of manslaughter and attempted assault. Pretty unbelievable to me.

And to finish of the news, something to make you smile. It is a dance-off between to Drag Queen in Sydney. And the girls can dance!!
