Gay news, gay attack Staten Island, gay/celebrities, Latvia not in EU anymore?

11 07 2010

A gay couple was harassed by a couple of teenagers Wednesday at a White Castle restaurant in Staten Island. A group came in and when one of the guys looked at the group they told him:” What are you looking at fag.” When the gay guy replied: What are you looking at,” the group left. A few moments later one of them felt a bob to the head and they quickly ran out. Outside they got separated and one guy got hit and was semi-conscious and bleeding. He needed stitches at the hospital. Hope the cops found the fuckers.

Posh Spice, Victoria Beckham, says she is a gay man in a woman’s body. That is why she loves fashion, glamour and Lady Gaga. So David Beckham is partly gay, haha. One can dream. Soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo gets more and more gay rumors as well. The purses, baby through a surrogate, painted toenails, and now dinners with Lance Bass. I dunno ,probably just very metrosexual.

A European Parliament’s member from Democrats’66(my party) thinks that Latvia should be dismissed as a member of the EU for their anti-gay law. Great idea, but I think it would be better to let the whole EU go.

In 2009 there were 43% more complaints about gay discrimination than in 2008. By far the most is in Amsterdam( and you know who does it) Police does not know if it really increased this much or that people find filing a complaint easier. Probably a bit of both. Bad news though, Amsterdam with the closing of the mayor discos like Exit, Cockring etc and violence like this is really losing its gays capital title very fast. Berlin and Paris are already much better in Europe.

Gay news, Supreme Court rules bigots be made public, European countries can decide on gay marriage themselves, Woman sues baptist church

25 06 2010

The highest court in the U.S, the Supreme Court, has ruled that the names of petition signers in Washington State Referendum 71 have to be made public. That means that people who signed an attempt to overturn a “pro gay” domestic partnerships law will be for all known as bigots. Conservatives tried to block the release of signatures fearing retributions, but all members of the court except for Clarence Thomas voted against them. Good news.

A High Court in Europe has ruled against 2 gays from Austria that wanted to get married. The court thinks the decision about marriage should be left up to the individual countries themselves and since there is a registered partnership in Austria that should be enough. As long the poor countries in Europe get their money from the Netherlands, Belgium and Scandinavia, they wanna have as little to do with our morals as possible and stay back in the Middle Ages.

An African-American woman sued her Covenant Baptist Church because they include gays and welcome same-sex unions. She says she gave$ 250.000 in past donations and wanted that back. She went to a gay wedding at the church just to see if it was real and she said it was disgusting. Now she dropped the lawsuit (because she had no chance in hell) and found herself a new bigot church. That from a woman who in her youth also was discriminated for being black. Unbelievable.

Gay Orangina Ad

25 06 2010

Orangina is a fizzy orange drink, known in Europe and mostly France. They have a new line of commercials out with animals, also one with a gay cougar!

Pretty funny

Gay news, soccer for gays?? Ellen ruined Idol, U.N blocked gay rights, anti-gay violence in Amsterdam

5 06 2010

Football.co.uk had an article on why America hates soccer. Reasons are the sport is too multi-cultural, not enough points are scored and it is too “gay”. This last part is because in the U.S the sport is mostly for girls, the fake diving to get a free ball is not manly and the screaming noises made by some players are emasculation. WTF?? I think soccer is not gay at all. There is not even an out top player. But some soccer players do come out in favor of gay men, like Beckham and Ronaldo recently. Maybe that is it??

According to the Christian Newswire Director American Idol was a bit of a flop this year because of good’ old gay Ellen. According to them you cannot make family oriented entertainment with gay people. Parents with good morals will not let their children watch gays. Ok that is why “Finding Nemo” with Ellen was a huge children’s hit. The show just sucked this year and apparently Ellen is not a great judge. But not because she is a lesbian.

The UN proved once more what a useless organization they are by having a Gay Human Rights Commission officially blocked from accreditation. The group was in limbo for years because conservative countries like Egypt, Qatar and Sudan blocked it because other gay groups criticised their anti-gay laws. Apparently the Middle-East and Africa is more important the U.S  and Europe.

Once again there was anti-gay violence against a gay man in Amsterdam last thursday. A man was spit on by 3 foreign(of course!!) teens and when he said something about it, he was called a dirty queer and got punched in the face. Anti-gay violence in Amsterdam got up with 23% in 2009. That is why Geert Wilders’ Party is popular by gays in the Netherlands.

Top 10 road trip in the U.S.

28 05 2010

Yahoo published a list of THE 10 road trips in the U.S to take. Here they are.

–  Big Sur in California, around Carmel. Did it and loved it ,that area is so spectacular with the views of the ocean and the cliffs.

– Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. Not yet

– Going to the sun, Montana. Not yet.

– Hana Highway, Hawaii. Not yet. Been to Hawaii but not there.

– Million Dollar Highway, Colorado. Impressive mountains, wildflowers, wildlife and neat little towns.

-Red Rock Scenic By Way, Sedona. So different from anything I had ever seen, just magical. Arizona was the most spectacular scenery I had ever seen in my life. Nothing like that in Europe.

-Sea Island, Georgia. Not yet but close to Savannah where Paula Deen has her restaurant so I will get there eventually.

-Seward Highway, Alaska. Not yet, but Alaska is on my wish list.

-Sonama and Napa valleys, California. Beautiful wine country with tons of great wineries. With a wine-lover as partner I have been there at least times.

U.S Route 1, Maine. 3 years ago my boyfriend and I took a long road-trip trough New England and i adore that area, the pretty english-looking towns, coastal beauty and great food. What more can you want!!

Surprised I did 5 out of 10 already while not being an American and being 31. I bet most 31-year old U.S folk have not done the same!!

Gay news, DADT repeal, anti-gay family sues bus-driver, Zuma critiques Malawi sentence, Glee/fag

28 05 2010

First the Senate Armed Forces Committee voted for the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell repeal compromise with 16-12 and then the Senate also voted for it 234-195. Of course it did not go without right-wing last-minute scare tactics about gay rape and HIV transmission in the Army. Fools. European army leaders actually said another advantage about allowing gays in the military is the fact that many (gay) european soldiers had a hard time  accepting DADT in the U.S and that made it harder for them to co-operate with U.S troops. The people of the U.S were in favor of ending DADT 72 % as well. Now it is off for a final vote by Obama and Congress.

An Indiana family is suing a school bus driver after he stopped the bus and berated a girl for her continuous bashing of Obama and gays. The girl told other students they were going to hell if they supported gay marriage. The bus driver called her a little bigot and according to the parents the girl has never recovered from that incident, now 2 years ago. Maybe he should not have called her that, but then again, he was right. The girl’s parents should be ashamed. I have had a bus-driver in the U.S stop the bus because of me and my girlfriends once. We were talking too hard and he wanted us to be quiet. I have never recovered, maybe I should sue as well, haha.

South African president Zuma has strongly critiqued the sentencing of the gay couple in Malawi for 14 years prison and hard labor. In most African countries there are anti-gay laws but in South Africa gays can marry. The special thing about his comment is that it is very rare for african leader to critique one another.

I have never seen an episode of Glee, but I will definitely try to catch up on it when I ‘m back in the U.S or maybe they show it here in the Netherlands. The Madonna episode must have been great( I did see clips of that) and the Lady Gaga one supposedly was also fabulous. The father of a gay kid had a fantastic thing to say about the word fag in that one. So good that kids in middle-america here this.

Gay news, Gay Rights ranking Europe, Zimbabwe arrests, John McCain and the gays

26 05 2010

The International Gay and Lesbian Association has released its Rainbow Europe County Index on how legislation affects LGBT people. Sweden is number 1 followed by Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway and Spain. Those 4 have anti-discrimination laws not enshrined in the constitution, like Sweden(but they do mostly use it) From the EU, Cyprus, Latvia and Poland not good and finished last. From non EU countries Turkey, Russia and Ukraine did bad.

Two members of a Zimbabwe Gay organization have been arrested. At first the government and police said it was because of drugs and porn but yesterday it was made clear they got a letter from former SF mayor Brown that was critical about that monster of a President Mugabe. Mugabe described gays as less than pigs and dogs. The 2 men are still in jail, hopefully unharmed…

Senator John McCain is anti gay marriage, opposes gay adoption, against gays in the military and against ENDA(discrimination against gays in workplace). On the other hand his wife has been a vocal supporter of gay marriage, his daughter is super pro-gay and now he hired a gay man, Mark Buse to run his campaign for re-election of Senator from Arizona. He should listen to his inner circle more.

NY Pride will be shorter than ever in a cost-cutting measure by the NYPD. It will go from 36/5th instead of 52/5th but still ends in Christopher Street. Apparently the same thing will happen to all parades in NY. I think it is totally fine, more crowd on a denser area and less to walk for the marcher in the (maybe) heat.
