Sex and the City 2

Finally I saw this movie yesterday evening with my sisters. After hearing all the negative reviews and the declining audience-numbers I was very curious to see if it was worse than the first movie or not at all. We were not disappointed. We had a great time, lots of laughs etc, but that might be due to the company as well. The beginning with the gay wedding scene with Liza was fabulous. According to a blog I read it took 300 takes for Liza to get it right but eventually it was pure bliss. Carrie is still the same Carrie; bony, whiney and self-absorbed. Very relatable to me! She needs to grow up a little though, being in your 40’s and still acting like a little girl does not work well anymore on her. With Samantha it is a different thing, she can get away with anything even though she is older. Charlotte was pretty funny, but the same cannot be said for Miranda. In the TV-series she used to be clever and witty but in the movies this does not come across the same at all. Some things in the Middle-East were a little far-fetched but if you love those girls they can get away with a lot. If there is going to be a third installment I want more NY, more sex and more comedy(mot lame but sharp). Regardless, if you are a fan you will love it!! So did we.

Signs that the times are changing in the U.S. – Half of the College Football players says they have a gay team mate and Republican, hunting simpleton Levi Johnston is fine with being a gay pin-up boy.

A Minnesota school district has to pay a family $25.000 over anti-gay harassment. Teachers at a high school there said about one boy that his “fence swings both ways” Another teacher said he had “a thing for older men”. Poor kid, those teachers should be fired. I think a lot of gay kids have stories about things at school. I once had a gym teacher say he could never be friends with a gay guy, prompting my mom to write a letter to school. The principal did nothing with it and years later I saw the same principal at a gay bar(while he was married with kids) I told him then that he should really change something now. Don’t know if he ever did or not.

A Utah paper refuses to run a gay couple’s wedding announcement. First the Spectrum said they could run an ad but only without a picture. After the couple protested the paper did not wanna run anything at all. The couple was married in San Francisco when it was still legal there and wanted to have a reception in Utah this month.
