Jelena Jankovic beats Williams sisters back to back

8 05 2010

At the clay court tournament in Rome, Jelena Jankovic did something quite special. Beating both Venus and Serena Williams back-to-back in a tournament is not something a lot of players can brag about, only 7 in the history of tennis. Sanchez Vicario, Hingis, Graf, Davenport, Henin and Clijsters(she even did it twice) Jankovic had a small form crisis for about a year but seems to be back this spring. First a final in Berlin and now here in Rome. Venus was an easy target in the quarter-finals with 0 and 1, with hard-fighting Serena it was a third set tiebreak. In the finals she will play to fabulous Martinez Sanchez from Spain. That girl plays so amazing; charging the net on clay, lots of dropshots and spin. A feast for the eyes.
