Gossip/news, Paul the octopus was right, Joan Rivers/Lindsay’s ex Twitter war, Gayken single again, Enrique Iglesias naked?

12 07 2010

Unfortunately Paul, the octopus was right again. He has predicted all the matches for the German team right at this World Cup and also the final between the Netherlands and Spain. Spain won 1-0 after a mediocre played but very tense and exciting final. I think as most dutch people I watched the match at a soccer party/BBQ. It was fun and even though I am not a big soccer fan, I kinda enjoyed watching the final. Now I feel like eating calamari so I would not mind a piece of the fortune-teller. I bet Bobbi Eden, the dutch porn-star is secretly a little happy though, she does not have to blow her 23000 Twitter followers as she promised she would do if Holland won.

There is a Twitter bitch fight going on between Joan Rivers and Samantha Ronson, aka Lindsay Lohan’s ex. Joan made some funny jokes about Lindsay saying “Lindsay does not mind being under oath because she thinks Oath is a Norwegian ski instructor.” “Lindsay is so dumb she thinks being sworn in is cursing at the judge.” Ronson then said Joan’s collagen is older than Lindsay and that she should pick on people her own age.” Leave the funny to Joan, Samantha because you are not.

All fans of singer Clay Aiken should be happy because she is single again. He and his boyfriend of 2 years, Broadway actor Reed Kelly are now going their own way. Looks like Clay cheated. That is a surprise because who in their right mind would have sex with Clay. I would probably pick even Rush Limbaugh over Clay. Gayken has like zero sex appeal. He had a porn star and a Broadway actor. What is next, a hair dresser or a make-up artist??

Enrique Iglesias promised the BBC that if Spain would win the World Cup, he would get drunk and water ski naked in Biscayne Bay. Because that is what they always did when he was a kid. Hope he does it, then he can show if the rumors of him being small endowed are true or not. He is hot regardless.

Gay news, no civil partnership Hawaii,Kylie wins gay prize, end to EU gay blood ban? Gay Pride Jerusalem, She’s back!!!

7 07 2010

Republican Governor Linda Lingle from Hawaii vetoed a bill yesterday that would have allowed same-sex civil unions in that state. Because Lingle invited Justice Steven Levinson, who back in 1993 found that the law banning gay marriage was unconstitutional, people expected she would sign the bill in favor of the civil unions. She thinks the bill is too similar to marriage though and that is only allowed for twice-divorced bitches like Lingle herself. Bigots were happy.

During Gay Pride in Madrid, Kylie Minogue was awarded a gay prize for her devotion to the gay community. She said it was a great honor and praised Spain for allowing gay marriage. Kylie sure deserves this prize, no big artist has been so supportive on gay issues for so many years. Except maybe for Madonna back in the day. Kylie is a lot more likeable though and that translates better to straight people.

Ministers from Health in several countries from the EU are planning to file a motion that in the EU gays should no longer be denied to donate blood. Just like in the U.S gays that have had sex since 1977 are not allowed to donate. Sweden is the only country that allows gay men to donate blood as long as they did not have sex in the last year. I think the whole rule is ridiculous, the only thing that matters is if people are safe, gay or straight. Definitely in these times.

District police of Jerusalem have changed their minds and granted permission for this year’s parade(end of the month) to terminate at the Knesset building. It is the one-year anniversary of the shootings in Tel Aviv at a gay center and getting to the Knesset is a proper way to symbolize what the parade is about. Full equal rights and an end to violence. Totally agree with that.

She is back. PhatGayKid is now lisping though Katy Perry’s “California Gurls.”

Gay news, gay couple holds kiss-in at restaurant, Mark Kirk outed, first gay marriage Portugal, nude transgenders in Delaware

7 06 2010

A gay couple from Chicago were discriminated at restaurant La Fiesta Azteca last month for holding hands and kissing a few times. The owner asked them to leave citing his religious beliefs and the fact the restaurant was family friendly. They did not wanna pay because they did not finish their food but the owner demanded their money. Yesterday 100 people had a kiss-in at the restaurant to protest this. While I think it is not necessary to be super affectionate in a family restaurant for anyone, gay or straight this had solely to do with the fact these man were gay and then it is something to protest against indeed.

Mike Rogers is an outing blogger that has a 100% success rate in his outings so far. This time he is going after Mark Kirk, an Illinois Republican. Kirk has voted numerous times against gay right and denied he is gay himself, saying people only think so because he got divorced. No mr Kirk, people think so because a purse falls out of your mouth every time you open it and because 2 men have claimed to have had sex with you and Rogers met you and saw you interact with gay men on a specific way. Even though I could not understand a life in the closet I think it is fine as long as you are not a closeted homophobe.

Today the first gay marriage in Portugal was sealed. Two divorced women in their 30’s that have been together since 2003 tied the knot in Lisbon. As a result of a decision in April by the president and parliament Portugal follows the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Spain, South Africa and Canada in making same-sex marriages legal. And lives have not changed that much in those countries since.

At Rehoboth Beach in Delaware several transgender women in the process of becoming full women removed their tops while sunbathing. After complaints patrol came and asked them to cover up and after first refusing eventually they agreed, but they were pissed.Women are not allowed to show their breast which I think is stupid but that is the rule. So the transgenders should follow suit and act like ladies and cover up. I mean you wanna become a woman or not??

Gay news, Gay Rights ranking Europe, Zimbabwe arrests, John McCain and the gays

26 05 2010

The International Gay and Lesbian Association has released its Rainbow Europe County Index on how legislation affects LGBT people. Sweden is number 1 followed by Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway and Spain. Those 4 have anti-discrimination laws not enshrined in the constitution, like Sweden(but they do mostly use it) From the EU, Cyprus, Latvia and Poland not good and finished last. From non EU countries Turkey, Russia and Ukraine did bad.

Two members of a Zimbabwe Gay organization have been arrested. At first the government and police said it was because of drugs and porn but yesterday it was made clear they got a letter from former SF mayor Brown that was critical about that monster of a President Mugabe. Mugabe described gays as less than pigs and dogs. The 2 men are still in jail, hopefully unharmed…

Senator John McCain is anti gay marriage, opposes gay adoption, against gays in the military and against ENDA(discrimination against gays in workplace). On the other hand his wife has been a vocal supporter of gay marriage, his daughter is super pro-gay and now he hired a gay man, Mark Buse to run his campaign for re-election of Senator from Arizona. He should listen to his inner circle more.

NY Pride will be shorter than ever in a cost-cutting measure by the NYPD. It will go from 36/5th instead of 52/5th but still ends in Christopher Street. Apparently the same thing will happen to all parades in NY. I think it is totally fine, more crowd on a denser area and less to walk for the marcher in the (maybe) heat.

Aravene Rezai wins big tournament of Madrid

17 05 2010

It was not Venus or Serena Williams, Justine Henin, Jelena Jankovic or one of the Russian ladies. No it was a big surprise in Spain with muslim french girl Rezai winning. She was not even in the top 20 before the tournament started and even though she can play very well and beat almost anyone on a good day during a clay tournament, defeating Williams, Henin and Jankovic all in 1 week is pretty amazing. Serena played the longest match of her entire career!!! against Vera Duchevina in round 2 winning 6-7 7-6 7-6, only to lose the next round against Nadia Petrova. Venus proved in the final that even though her form is pretty decent that on clay she is just not that dangerous. Can Rezai make her country people proud by winning Roland Garros. I doubt it and still go with Justine Henin.

Gay news, big star coming out a bore, Baltic Pride will go on!, Gay soccer players??, No privileges for gays in Iowa camping

8 05 2010

People were told that a big star would come out f the closet on may 5. Then it was country singer and one-hit wonder Chely Wright. Who?? Exactly. despicable country singer John Rick asked her back in the day if she was gay. When she said no, he replied: “Good,Thank God.” That kept her a lot longer in the closet.

After I reported yesterday that a court in Lithuania had forbidden Pride to go on there, no the Lithuanian Supreme Court decided different. They said the Government is obligated to defend the rights of those who want to assembly, even members of a minority group. Hope it will all go without violence this weekend.

In Spain media is going all crazy about a pic that was shot of 2 Barcelona football players in a very intimate moment against on of the player’s car. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gerard Pique are being very tender. Both are linked to women and they could just be very comfortable in their sexuality but who knows. Would be nice if eventually some soccer players come out.

Iowa lawmaker Senator Merlin Bartz, a Republican does not want to see gay couples and their kids recognized as families by the state’s park system. Rates are the same but as a family you can put up more than 1 tent. He thinks everything should stay the same as it is and gay families are no real families.

El Bulli no longer number 1 restaurant, now it’s NOMA

28 04 2010

It was a huge surprise that first place from the S Pellegrino World’s best restaurants went to the Danish eatery NOMA, located in Copenhagen. The winner of the most prestige food award is picked by over 800 restaurateurs, chefs and food writers from all over the world and El Bulli from Spain on years in a row and now was number 2 just for The Fat Duck from the UK. My boyfriend and I are big foodies and were curious to see to how many places in the top we have been too. Let’s say we still have a long way to go. We ate at number 8 Daniel and number 15 Le Bernadin both in NYC. Then number 34 Aqua in Germany and my personal favorite The Librije in Zwolle, the Netherlands ranked 37. Then number 52 Jean Georges and 57 De Karmeliet in Brugge. Another favorite of us Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence ended up at place 87. The chef from the Librije, Jonnie Boer was on TV yesterday and he as very happy with his place 37, I think he deserves even more. On saturday night the restaurant is booked until July 2011. Luckily we always go on a different day!

Gay News, Mr Gay from South Africa, pastor refuses to give gay prince Carnival his communion wafer, BBC host euthanized partner with AIDS

16 02 2010

This weekend, the Mr Gay elections were held in Norway and the winner was Charl Vandenberg from South Africa. The guy owns a bar in Capetown, made some J/O porn and is pretty good-looking but was not my favorite. Sergio Lara from Spain ended a runner-up and should have won. Overall there were not a lot of hotties. Mr China ended in 4th place and ran without permission from Beijing where the nationals were forbidden. The Netherlands had no competitor for lack of funds!!??. Last year’s dutch guy was not hot at all and I actually once briefly dated a former Mr Gay Netherlands and he was kinda hot, but not Mr hot.

In the Netherlands this weekend Carnival was being held and it is a big deal, definitely in the south of our country. Every community choses their prince( I actually was prince once at school, before I started to really dislike Carnival) and the town Reusel in Brabant had a gay prince this year. A pastor called Luc Buyens refused to give the prince his communion wafer during the carnival’s ceremony in church because of the guy being gay. The only thing he could get was a cross on his forehead. He refused to get that and many people in church did the same to support the prince. I did not even know a pastor could do that. The prince, like myself, has done his communion and was baptized in church so this is just ridiculous. I have never been refused even after I came out. You can be gay and catholic!!

BBC host Ray Gosling, 70, is being investigated by police after he admitted in a show about euthanasia yesterday that he did that to his boyfriend  with aids. They had made a deal with each other that if the pain got too much and there was nothing to be done that they would not let the guy suffer more. One day the doctors said there was nothing to be done and he asked the doctors to leave and smothered his partner with a pillow. The doctors knew what happened but did not question anything. I think Gosling did the only humane thing to do. It must have been terrible to do and shown great love for his partner. Of course not everyone agrees with this and I am curious to see how this ends.

GLBT news; Top 5 Gay destinations, BearForce1 split, India creates third gender for voters

14 11 2009

Top 5 gay leisure destinations in the U.S according to a recent survey by the LGBT-focused Community Marketing Inc. are:     1 New York,  2 Las Vegas, 3 SF, 4 LA, 5 Chicago. Seems to be mostly the biggest cities otherwise Fort Lauderdale, Key West and Provincetown should have been higher. With lesbians Las Vegas is number 1, also not surprising. The survey also mentioned the most popular countries for American LGBT travelers in Europe. Number 1 is England, 2 France,3 Germany, 4 Italy 5 Spain. I do not understand England being number 1, I think it should have been Spain. Maybe because it is closest to the U.S.?? Italy is great but not so much for specific gay destinations. And where is the Netherlands???

Gay boy-band with hairy fatties BearForce 1 no longer exists. Well I guess for some it was fun as long as it lasted. Basically 2 years I guess with 2 minor hits. The producer of the band was on dutch TV a while back(he is a famous dutch actor) and he said they were mostly popular in the U.S where the bear community is the biggest. But since a year they have had more changes in members then the Sugababes and they were basically a one-trick-pony anyway. It will not cost me a minute of sleep that is for sure.

Indian election authorities have granted what they call an independent identity for transsexuals on the country’s voter lists. They have the change to pick O for “Other” instead of male or female from now on when indicating their gender. Wow after first legalizing gay sex not this. They are getting very progressive in India lately.

Gay news; Transgender Virgin Mary; balloon family homophobes, From church to nightclub to mall

19 10 2009

In Spain there is some controversy about an AIDS awareness campaign where a transgender woman/activist named Carla Antonelli is playing the Virgin Mary. I think this is unnecessary and reminds me of the gay nativity in Amsterdam during X-mas last year. A drag queen Maria, a leather Joseph etc. It’s just really disrespectful to religious people and only gathers bad publicity for the gay community. Some things should be left sacred. I sound a lot more holy then normal now, but I am serious about this.

Not only are “balloon boy”s parents irresponsible liars, they are also homophobes. There is a clip on youtube where the young sons sing about the “pussification” of American men and boast that they hate faggots and kill ’em with a bat and throwing rocks at them. Wow, that is really speech you should learn your kids. I think Child Services should pay a long visit to this family.

NYC’s Limelight Nightclub that brought us the “club kids” , death drug dealers, the movie “Party Monster”, but mostly great parties and fantastic music originally was a church before it became THE Club I never went, but would have loved to have gone. A little before my time. Now it is being turned into an upscale mini-mall. It’s gonna be a “high-brow” indoor bazaar with over 60 retail spaces. They already call it Disney World meets Manhattan. Because of its unique background and 19th century stained glass windows depicting Jesus and the Saints it’s a pricy place to have your store!! I used to live really close to the place a few years back and will definitely go back now to do some shopping there in March when it opens.
