Gay news, Malai gay couple sentence, Tranny Republican congress candidate!, celebrities(James Bond/Harry Potter

19 05 2010

The 2 Malawi men that where jailed last december for celebrating their engagement with plans of marrying this year were found guilty and might be sentenced to 14 years in jail and hard labor. According to the court they are guilty of rude obscenities and unnatural acts. The courts and people of Malawi do not want to be like western counties they say. Maybe the western countries should stop sending them millions of dollars, see how that goes then.

Donna Milo, formerly Ed would like to be the next Congresswoman for Fort Lauderdale. To do that she has to win the Republican primary in August first, yep she is a Republican!. She is anti-government, pro small business and thinks the oil spill is just a mishap. She is also a total believer in America. Hope for her the people of Florida believe in her….

Johnny Galecki, mostly known as Darlene’s boyfriend on Roseanne David denied being gay on the View, but also said he never responded to rumors about it before because he believes it is not something offensive. Good thinking.

Daniel Craig, aka James Bond was seen in a gay bar in LA called Roosterfish. Of course some media have said they saw him kiss a guy outside on a street corner, but I think he is just a straight men very comfortably with his sexuality. He is european not american…

Daniel Radcliffe, aka Harry Potter is the Ambassador for the Trevor Group, an organization trying to prevent LGBT teen suicide. He made a nice little clip for them

Gay news, Gay teen murdered in Scotland, Baltic Pride troubles, Turkish gay movement not forbidden, gay can’t play straight?

10 05 2010

A sixteen-year old gay teen and a friend have been attacked and slashed with a knife in Glasgow while walking home. He died soon after the attack and his friend is still in the hospital. A seventeen-year old male has been arrested. It is believed to have been a homophobic attack.

Baltic Pride in Lithuania that I blogged about this weekend has not gone by peacefully. Six hundred! cops had to use teargas to get the hundreds of anti-gay bigots out-of-the-way. The parade had only 300-500 participants and it shows that maybe in NY and the Netherlands Gay Pride is just a party but in other countries it is still a whole lot more.

In Turkey last friday a court decided that Black Pink Triangle, a gay group, should be allowed to exist there. The governor of Izmir wanted to have it forbidden because it was against good Turkish morals and family tradition. Great thing that even in some Muslim countries the law is on the good side.

Broadway Superstar and TV-actress Kristin Chenoweth(famous from my all-time fav musical Wicked) is playing in the revival of Promises, Promises with Sean Hayes aka Jack from Will and Grace and she fought back against a nasty article in Newsweek about how gay men cannot play straight. According to the article it is easy for straight men to play gay, but people do not believe it the other way around. Chenoweth rightly says how much it means for gay kids to see out/proud actors like Neil Patrick Harris and Cynthia Nixon(Miranda from Sex&theCity) not only succeeding in their work as an actor but also are very believable as straight. A true friend of the LGBT community.

Celebrities, Green Day, Lance Bass, Collin Farrell, Cyndi Lauper, Lady Gaga

10 04 2010

Lance Bass, GreenDay and Cat Cora will host a gay prom in Mississippi open to everyone but geared towards gay youth that could not bring their dates to prom. Kids like Constance McMillen who could not bring her girlfriend and where the school held a secret prom for the rest of the students that she could not attend. Great that people are doing something about despicable acts like that.

Actor Collin Farrell has been speaking out against anti-gay bullying for a campaign to help youth in Ireland. His gay brother Eamon came home bloody sometimes after school because he was “different” and Collin made a great statement how different in fact is great and it is a disgrace that some kids do not survive their teenage years because of bullying like this. Great guy he is!

Cyndi Lauper’s organization is helping establish Manhattan’s first permanent housing for LGBT youth that are homeless. The True Colors residence will open in Harlem in the Winter of 2011 to help 18-24 year old to get back on their feet. What a fantastic and very important thing.

Lady Gaga loves her fans and that is why she spoke out in favor of a 15-year old student that was wearing a I heart Lady Gay Gay shirt to school that was sent home. She says she is proud of him and that he should just be himself!! Hear, hear

Gay news; Alabama prom discrimination, R.I gays not allowed to bury each other, men attempt to burn gay flag

12 11 2009

A lesbian teen wanted to take her girlfriend to her school’s prom. She had personally raised over $200 and even created the theme for the year. Tharptown High School refused to let her bring her date to the prom and after several organizations demanded she as allowed to attend the school decided to cancel the prom all together. Making the girl the scapegoat. What a bunch of bigot assholes.

Rhode Island Governor Don Carcieri vetoes a new law that would allow same-sex couples to make burial decisions for each other. According to him that is a disturbing erosion of the principles surrounding traditional marriage. So even when dead as a gay men you deserve no basic rights according to that asshole.

In Memphis 2 men were arrested after they attempted to set fire on a rainbow flag at the Memphis Gay and Lesbian Community Center. The arrest was not after a fight with the police though and one of the men had to be punched and pepper-sprayed. It’s the second act of vandalism on the center. In september a billboard featuring a gay marine as destroyed on Nation Coming Out day. The crime inspired hundreds to rally in response.

Gay news; Levi naked?, Prop 8, gay teen beaten up

18 08 2009

Prop 8’s repeal will most likely not be  until 2012.  Lots of groups and papers like Equality California and the L.A. Times think 2010 will be too early. Forging alliances with minority groups, lining up financial support and getting a better campaign staff then this year takes time they say. While I agree faults have been made before I think people’s opinions have changed already since the prop 8 election with other states already having gay marriage. Why wait until 2012 when the support probably will be there already in 2010. Who knows what might happen after that. Maybe another war or something that changes people’s views again to the more conservative side.

A 15- year old boy from Michigan was assaulted last week and left with bruises, skull fractures and a broken lip. He told his parents and friends a while back that he is gay and 2 older teens apparently thought they needed to attack him. He is a brave guy and said afterwards they did not break his spirit. The case is being treated like a hate crime. Hope those little brats will end up in jail for a while.

The major of Anchorage, Alaska has vetoed a ban against discrimination based on sexual orientation, saying it is unclear such a thing exist!!. The measure was the subject of intense public interest and debate all summer. The Anchorage Assembly can override the veto of Republican Sullivan with 8 votes. 7 voted in favor of the ban in the first place. What an idiot, of course it exists.

It did not take long before Levi Johnston was made on offer after he said last week he would pose naked for the right amount of money. Nude magazine Unzipped ,who previously paid former lover of Portland’s major Adams a nice amount of cash is  willing to do the same for Levi. He gets a free interview with it as well in the nation’s most sold nude men’s magazine. I highly doubt he will do it, but maybe he should. His 5 minutes of fame will be up anytime soon.
